Part numbers or replacement info needed

Post by spl310 »

I have the parts book, but a page or two is missing. One page is the one with the radiator hoses for the 67 2000. If anyone has those part numbers, please let me know. Aftermarket replacement numbers are OK too.

I also need to know the stud dimensions for the BOTTOM of the 68 - 70 2000 stock exhaust manifold. Mine are missing. Also, has anyone used an exhaust donut on the stock manifold to seal it to the stock exhaust pipes? Gimme some help here!

Sid,

Do you want the exhaust manifold to tail pipe flange dimensions? If so, I measured my U20 this evening as follows:

3 studs - 5/16NF24 x 1.5LG threaded both ends on 2.900" centers.

If you need other dimensions let me know as I've the engine in a stand and will be working on it tomorrow.

Thanks guys! Just what I needed!!

I do have a question on the stud, Garth. Is the overall length 1.5 or 2.9"? I am not clear on the whole machinist lingo...

Sorry I should have been clearer

The studs are 5/16" in diameter, 24 threads/in National Fine and 1.5" long, threaded approximately 3/8" at each end. The three tapped holes on the flange are on 2.900" centers.

I hope this helps. there has to be a drawing available some where on the this site.

On my 69 2000, Gates 20783 lower hose fits perfectly with drivers side alternator, exact match of every bend to stock except no cloth braid.Upper is Gates 21171, fit fine, but I have the incorrect thermostat housing. Would probably be perfect on the right housing. Lower was about $15.00, upper was about $12.00. I guess it would fit pass side alternator engine, just have extra bends to clear the alternator which won't be there.

Well, I have been to NAPA, Autozone and Advance Discount Auto Parts and no luck on the bottom hose. CarQuest is next on the list - and Pep Boys...

The lower hose I bought was an AC Delco, part number crossed over from the Gates, if that's any help, I'll dig out the reciept and post the number.

I checked the Gates website for 20783 and it crossed to 22070M in the AC Delco brand. 21171 crosses to 22131M in AC Delco. I have not searched those part numbers at the parts houses though...

Where did you get yours Dave?

Local parts supplier. That was the number. List price was around $27.00, I paid around $16.00 I think I see an Ebay business oppurtunity :D
Be glad to send you one if you can't find it locally. I bought the last one in stock, but was marked as a current available #
