introducing Charles

Post by cbrad619 »

Hi peeps, I'm Charles from san Diego ca. I have a 1970 1600 ragtop. I inherited it recently from my mom. I currently drive a 2000 silverado and love it. I utilize it frequently and need it for work and play. I am a senior at SDSU and need something smaller and dependable, so unfortunately I have to sell the car. I posted it in the classifieds with pics if u care to have a look. Thanks.

Something smaller than a silverado...easy....keep the Datsun.
Something dependable...easy...keep the Datsun.
The 1600 engine is bullet proof if taken care of.

Hasn't anyone told Charles that Roadsters reputedly make panties fly off?

I'm living in san diego right now too... but mine's spotted with primer spots and a little rusty.

once I get it running, I will report back to you on the panties proposition. why don't you try and get it running? If mine runs without having to take it apart, I'll have a full gasket kit available.

Keep the Datsun. When I graduated from Cal I sold my 1600 and bought a Subaru wagon because I needed something "dependable." Boy was that a mistake! I don't know why they have a cult following, mine leaked oil like a sieve and all over the clutch too...

I'll be in San Diego next week for vacation - maybe we can all get together and get the car running well.

Alright, after all the comments to keep the car I'm open to giving her a shot. I know its friday but if anyone still wants to meet up this weekend let me know. Beers are on me. I really like the car and would love to drive it.
Thanks for all the words of wisdom and encouragement.

Sweet, I hope someone takes you up on the offer and gets you running. Driving might be an issue as I am sure the brakes will require attention too, but still, one step at a time!
