I checked the different valve covers I have and they are:

rivet outside the letter C, no cable clip,
rivet in the letter C, cable clip
rivet outside the letter C, cable clip
I was told my parts car started it's life in Guam, would explain the non-smog head, and could it have come with the Solexes? Can't check the ID plate as the PO kept it for sentimental reasons.

Thanks
Mark

The carbs on eBay are carbs from Nissan. They could have been production line installs if the car was a non-US market car as they are the later style.

On the car from Guam, yes, it could well have been a Solex car. No problem on the ID tag - there are repros available. (I have them!)

Lots of folks are convinced that the rivet in the C valve covers are all that were available in 67, but the road tests from back then show that it is not the case. Either way, that is part of the fun - tracking down the unusual aspects!

Alvin, I figured that you would get a kick out of the "sprue" thing!

Did I understand that correctly, there is only one intake manifold that works for both the SU's and Solex Carbs? what about the linkage, is it the same? Thanks.

No, they are different manifolds. The person posting was trying to convey that there are no aftermarket Solex manifolds for the 2000 - the only one available was Nissan.

The 1600 had a factory manifold and an aftermarket one available for Solex/Weber carbs. No 1600s were delivered from the factory with solex carbs though - it was all over the counter.
