Ok, I'll stop hyjacking this thread for my own entertainment!
Hijack away, I don't care. I'm taking a break from this damn thing. It's gone from bad to worse.
Before I proceed, I realized this is turning into a sort of a Roman's roadster blog. If y'all are entertained , good. If it is wasted bandwidth, sorry.
Anyway,
The decision was made to jack up the motor and/or move it to the right an inch or two to obtain the room to remove the offending manifold.
It turns out that on each side of the frame, the one of the captured nuts are gone and a nut and bolt is in it's place.... ok, no big deal.
Then disaster struck. One motor mount bolt broke!!!!!!!

One of the two remaining captured nut bolts.
This changes plans, for I cannot see how that bolt can be easily drilled out of the frame with the motor in there. I guess from underneath with a reverse easy out or some such thing.
The hell with it. I'm pulling the motor. Imagine a nice empty engine bay in need of cleaning, painting, repairing etc. You know, the "while we are at it" syndrome.
Right now though, I'm taking a break. I'll be back when I feel like it, then I'll bring some more of my babble and torturous photos of progress.

Will trade guitars for roadsters, food, shelter, clothes, etc, etc.
