I am some day, hopefully soon, going to need to deal with setting up throttle linkage on the webers I will be running on my stroker.
What have people used please? The more details, detailed pics and part numbers the better for this clueless fool in WI!
Thanks!!

You can get a hold of the guys on ebay selling the whole set up - webers, manifold and linkage for $1300 ish... It is a buy it now. They will sell the manifold with linkage for $337 I think is what they said, and I am sure they would sell the linkage separately too... I built my own linkage for my old u20 with 40DCOEs using Solex parts and a different dog bone from the local speed shop... Worked fine, but that was a solex manifold... I think the linkage was $90 or so if I remember right...

A set of 40 DCOEs doesn't say much. There are different series of carbs and they are very different. Some work better with bigger motors, others with smaller motors. Before you run out and buy a set of Webers, make sure you know what series you are getting, and if that series will work with your application.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!

They came off of a Datsun Roadster and are supposed to be good for my stroker. How can I be certain?
Thanks

I hate to say it, but I don't know. One of the series has the idle bleed holes before the butterflies, and another has them after. I don't know which ones you want. Yet another reason I don't like Webers, too many differences on the same carbs that can seriously effect the way the motor runs.
I'd say google it. There was a very long thread on the Alfa forum where a guy had one carb of one series, and another of a different and obviously it didn't run well. I can see what I can find.

If they were a pair, and running on a roadster, you are probably ok. I think that Will's concern is probably more about some of the later generation Weber clones that look virtually the same, but aren't as a result of some licensing tomfoolery... still say Weber, but made outside of Europe... not Italy (can't remember exactly the story.) My 2000 was actually running Webers off an Alfa ironically enough in this thread... They were off a Berlina, rebuilt by a guy here in Calgary and they worked beautifully and effortlessly for 4 years once I figured out the linkage (to no fault of the carburetor.) I run triple 40 DCOE's on my 74 260 and they are fine, but I have been keeping my eye out for a set of triple Mikuni 44's...
As a side note, I am about to have a nice set of 40PHH's for sale that would be a nice compliment to a stroker...$375 shipped (no linkage though!)

If I was keeping the 2000 in the car, these babies would definitely be going on it.
Great find in your garage. Can you offer any input or insight as to what you used for linkage?
thanks

The linkage on that intake is underneath the carbs - don' think there is enough room on a roadster for that.
I would look into Gerardo's reproduction center-pull linkage for the U20 - you might be able to adapt it for Webers on an R20.
I assume you are going to use the Redline intake. It will come with Weber linkages. I found the parts to be a bit flimsy and created a custom linkage setup with modified arms for the 40mm Mikunis on my H20.
