SR20DE - S14 Roadster - Not insane, but wicked fast! - VIDEO
At the SOCALROC BBQ, Kevin was nice enough to take me on a ride in his SR20DE - S14 Roadster. Great ride.
Thanks Kevin, I can't wait to finish mine.

Re: SR20DE - S14 Roadster - Not insane, but wicked fast! - V
Alvin, I am embarrassed to say, that I have never ridden in a "normal" roadster. I have loved the vehicles for so long and this weekend was the first time I've ever seen a "functional" one in person. I have two fixer-uppers and I was a little spoiled just going for a ride in the SR20's.
Hopefully at Solvang I can hitch a quick ride with someone and have a good comparison.
Having said that, you should know, the SR20 is an insane swap! It was lightning fast, idle like a cat purring. It was a great experience. I couldn't stop laughing when he was hitting the gas and then when he slammed on the 300zx brakes. The brakes were impressive!!!

This car was so nice. It really has lots of details that are easily overlooked by just the motor, but I had to show some of the incredible stuff Kevin has done to his Roadster.
SR20DE - S14 with the skinnier header for some nice space in the compartment. Just a very nice and clean looking install without a big mess. Driver Side 300zx brakes! Passenger Side 300zx brakes! Clean Silver Color Camaro Seats that I REALLY liked. Awesome Stereo with Subwoofer box that goes into the trunk. This is a FREAKING SPEAKER BOX built into the wheel well. Totally awesome! Tweeter molded into the pillar. Very classy and functional. Another woofer built into where the heater used to be. Stereo in the Glove box. (I love Alpine!)

Thanks guys for putting up videos of the ride alongs.
SCORGE
Thanks for taking the time to really appreciate my ride and all of the small details i have put into it. It really makes me proud when someone else appreciates it as much as i do.
Kevin
BTW: Alvin It is a complete night and day difference from the fuel injected U20. The SR has buttery smooth power right out of the gate no building onto a cam. just wish i could get the speed limiter removed. The only take away that i have is the U20 would pull way past 115 MPH the SR S14 will shut down at around 115 MPH.
The car is still way more fun to drive with the SR than the U20 and prob the same or better mileage crusing it gets close to 37 mpg. I will verify that when i get my new gauges and can accurately check milage.
Alvin
Maybe you can put this in the life with a sr powered roadster.
If you anyone needs frame mods or help with conversions let me know. If there is a part of the swap that you are not comfortable with I can do all or part of a swap for you.
Thanks again Guys

Wonderful sound and it looks quite fast! Humble but proud... like how you ride! Congrats on a great car with your personal touch to make it your own! Looks like you have quite the stable... wonder how that 312 wagon goes with the turbo motor! Must be a real sleeper... got pics?
37mpg? Good Lord, the best I get is 25mpg, and that is freeway driving (at warp 9 however, i.e. constant 90mph or so). I do believe my speedo is off however (what stock Roadster one's aren't?) so that messes with the OD reading, but still...
The top speed of 115mph with the SR is due to the limiter, right?

yes 115 mph top is due to the speed limiter in the ecu.
I have to change my sig. the wagon is going SR20DE automatic The 5 speed trans is to long it puts the shifter under the seat. oh well it will be a nice crusier anyway. i will get some pics up as soon as i start the project.
Thanks for the interest
