Yes, I was test fitting some numbers for someone who is running 14, and some oxidation pulled off when I removed them. Cool ghost effect. :-)

My car will be #45 when I get around to it.

It's cold and damp, so I did some minor updates...

Grommet for the gas filler pipe -- thank you Sports Imports!

Installed the remaining cover bolts where the bumper guards were (stainless Allen buttonheads)

Improved the PDS (aka "spikies") for dbrick's entertainment

Braille battery install. From 36 pounds to 11.5!
Braille is a drycell battery with plenty of cranking amps.

Let the engine cleaning begin!!

Looks like you are going in the right direction. Those velocity stacks look good. Full radius design, well done. Good work with the battery, according to the the Bob Sharp manual, for every 17lbs lost, you gain the equivalent of 1 hp. Hey, every little bit helps.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!

A friend recommended Black Magic Engine Shine as an engine cleaner that would not dull aluminium. I haven't tried it yet, but he uses it on his hot rods.

I like that foamy engine cleaner to get off the heavy dirt. Also Simple Green works pretty well.
When it is all clean then you can discover the joys of polishing, if you haven't with your other cars.

Thanks everyone. I'll try a few things to clean her up. The previous owner ran the emissions equipment without the pump working, so crud was spewed into the engine bay, maybe for years. I can't pull the motor just to clean, so I guess it's the hard way.

But then, I did say I wanted to touch every inch of the car. Doh!

@ dbrick: it was pebbles!
Really nice!
Shorten up the ebrake boot and let that chrome out. Its a well finished piece.
