L.A. Area Datsun Shop?

Post by Victor_laury »

On our "Run to the Poppies", some one mentioned a Datsun Specialist in Altadena. Was the you Howard? I need the details again. A local just dropped his cam gear, and bent a valve. I don't have time to fix his roadster and he lives out by Pasadena.

Just a side note....

About 12 years ago, there was an older gentleman (mid-late 60's) who owned several roadsters in the alta dena area. He had a house in the foothills and had roadster parts galore! He always had one or two roadsters for sale..

Victor, I posted a question a short while back. That from time to time I have trouble getting into 1st gear. It grinds as if I dont have the clutch in. When I roll the car a few inches, it goes in with no problem. The boards advice was a clutch adjustment. Can you help me with this, maybe before Solvang? Let me know. Thanks, Howard

This is a always an issue. Finding a place to get your roadster serviced and repaired is a challenge. Roadster friends like Victor are great and I have relied heavily on them int he past, but they have to have a life as well.

I would be interested in locating a good resource to get my car serviced.

Howard, Bring the car over this week or this week end and will check the clutch adjustment. It's ten minutes max. There can be some complexities. If the hole, or pin at the pedal are worn, It can cause too much play to be adusted out. We will know more after inspection. Still have my number?

Victor, I'm not sure I have your number. It's in my roadster, and I'm at work. Email it to me at Eslansteel@aol.com. I'll be out of town until Sunday. I'll call you then. Hopefully we can meet.
Thanks, Howard

Far everyone's info, I spoke to Skip this morning. He seems quite knowedgeable on the roadsters and vendors. So far he passes my interview stage easily.

I'd like to get the car serviced before Solvang so I will give this guy a call and see what is up. If I do take the car in for servicing I will give a full report to the list about the results.
