Satin Silver Interior Paint

Post by bikermike »

I am seeking some advice for matching the '67.5 satin silver interior color on small trim pieces. Is there a rattle can color anyone has been pleased with on past projects? Thanks.

I have used this on high winshield ash trays. It goes on really shiny but turns quickly to a satin sheen....
I have not used on the parts in question.

I used a Rust-Olem product. A small drippage issue but not bad.

If you are really picky an auto paint store can match the color and put it in a spray can for you. You may have to buy several cans though.

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

There was a guy at Shasta that told my brother and I that "VHT Aluminum paint" was the best match for the original interior satin on the 67.5. We haven't tried it yet, so I can't say for sure how well it matches. I'm also not sure which of VHT's aluminum paint he was referring to. I looked on Amazon, and it looks like VHT has several different types of aluminum paint.

Good luck!

No worries Alvin, just want to do some touch ups at some point.
