'85 Volvo 245? There's a pic on page 5? That I put up. It's a clip of rockautos info about which cars used the same calipers.

Re: Altima Vented Rotors
No, I don't have a write up cause I don't think I knew of 311s at the time, or it might not have even existed! I would be happy to remove a wheel and disassemble the set up for pics. I have some extra caliper mounts I can show next to them too. I'm like you on the one offs and enjoy making my own stuff or building off of others. The nice thing about this new Volvo conversion was that it bolted right to the caliper mount AND used a vented rotor, which was something I wanted vs the original volvo conversion.mklotz70 wrote:Greg....Since I'm not a roadster guy, I've got very, very limited info about what's out there. I'd love to see more info/pics on yours....do you have a build thread on here you could post a link for? I'm not going to make enough money at this to be threatened by other options. I've done disc kits for the trucks and 411's for a few years now. I've referred quite a few people to the competition on the truck kits because it was a better option for them. I really enjoy the prototyping and "one off" stuff. I'm much rather have someone else do the production work. Anyway......
Will stock 14" steel wheels fit on your setup?
I might still have an old stock wheel laying around so I will see if it will fit on. Stay tuned...

Re: Altima Vented Rotors
I just noticed the title of this thread. With that in mind, if you do take pics, you might want to start a new thread and title it accordingly or the info will get lost in here.

Re: Altima Vented Rotors
Ah! Good point... will do. I can do a write-up from memory so hopefull it will help someone out! Credit where it is due however; I basically "stole" (at least the caliper choice) from Dean, as he used to offer a big brake kit (the first?) on his site, and I simply looked at the picture and matched it up to calipers until I figured out which one it was. The rest I had to fabricate, so not a complete "steal".

Re: Altima Vented Rotors
I've got 8 modified rotors now
I've got the DOM chunks cut for the spacers, but my bro is in town....not sure if I'll get to them this weekend.
Here's a couple of pics and a quick vid.

Re: Altima Vented Rotors
I submitted the CAD art to the cutter for the caliper spacers.....still waiting for the quote.
I posted some more info on the cross drilled rotors on the Ratsun thread
http://community.ratsun.net/topic/38832 ... ge__st__20" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I spent time today doing the CAD work for the bearing spacers. If I can get it done correctly, I'll submit it for a quote tomorrow. The first several sets will get done manually, but I'd like to know the price in case there's more interest.

Re: Altima Vented Rotors
Just as an FYI-if anyone does a write-up it can be posted to the tech wiki so it does not get lost in the shuffle. I prefer to host the pictures on 311s.org so when the hosting service goes away we do not lose the pictures. We are always looking for stuff to put in the wiki. Thanks.

Re: Altima Vented Rotors
I'll see what I can do. Just trying to save myself from having to post everything 3 different times.....here, Ratsun, and my own website. On my site and Ratsun, I get some idea of traffic. Once I put everything on here, I have no clue how much it's being looked at. My photobucket account pulls about 50,000 hits every month....that can jump up to nearly 100,000 when I'm actively posting on a build or project. Anyway.....I understand

Re: Altima Vented Rotors
I'm working on a write-up (Mike, can I pull from your copy and images?).
It may take a while - I need at least 2-3 hours added to my day just to keep up with work and a three-year old!

Re: Altima Vented Rotors
Leigh, I'm planning on doing a writeup as well - maybe we can work together. I think we're using the exact same setup.
