The long and short is 15 x 7 12P should fit with 195/50 x 15 or 185/55 x 15 tires.Alvin wrote:http://www.311s.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=13454" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;69roadster wrote:I have decided on the RB wheels for my 68-SRL, I would like to see pictures of the 15x7 +12 offset wheel on a raodster for those of you running this set up.Also please tell me what mod. would be needed to fit the RG'S and what size tires you are running. Body alinement and fenders do vary from car to car.
I have 205/50 x 15 and rolled the fenders just a hair.

Thanks Alvin for the link,
Am I wrong but it seams like this is not the best wheel for our cars, after reading that link.
Are ther any after market wheel(NEW) thats a direct fit for the roadster other than Panasport

Here's a photo of the wheels on my car:
http://www.reefpix.org/v/Cars/69-datsun ... 3.jpg.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I don't know if there is a "best" wheel but for the price these can't be beat, they are light and look great.
Cheers

Re: Rota RB wheels --- Again?
Here are some shots with them on my 67. The side by side comparison is of the stock wheel with a 195/85 tire next to the Khumo 195/50 tire. I love them and they were not expensive compared to other wheel alternatives. I am running Khumo exacta 195/50 in 15 inch.

Re: Rota RB wheels --- Again?
I want the Rota's but don't like the fact that the center caps for the front don't fit. I spent most of the afternoon looking up Rota on some of the Z sites. Every picture I saw of cars with ROTA's had the front center caps on. I called Rota spoke to a guy name Kim, I asked him what size would be best for the roadster he already knew the roadster has "0" offset, and told me the 15 x 7 +4 would be the best wheel for the roadster and would give me a better chance of the center caps fitting as I would have 8-10 mm clearance than I would if I got the 15 x 7+12 . What do you guy think , does that make sense.

Re: Rota RB wheels --- Again?
"a better chance"?
What your saying makes sense, however IMHO Kim is incorrect.
You should ask how rota adjusts offset. If moving the wheel center, (wider /narrower lip) there may be no better chance of the cap fitting. If adding hub thickness (moves cap further from hub) you have a better chance of it fitting. You could try a +20 and use a 5 mm spacer. But then that all depends on the manufacturing process of the offset.

Is spot on... Take a look at these two pics of my wheels. The drivers side is sooooo tight, and passenger has plenty of space. The long and short is 15 x 7 12P should fit with 195/50 x 15 or 185/55 x 15 tires.

Re: Rota RB wheels --- Again?
LOL I just checked here and I can't find anyone running the front caps on the +12 15x7 Rb???69roadster wrote:I want the Rota's but don't like the fact that the center caps for the front don't fit. If running the front center cap is priority I would stick with the 15x7 +12 and run a 5mm(or larger?) spacer up front to let the cap clear the grease cap/hub.
i know this probably does not fit your requirement of "best fitting new wheels"
the risk of running +4 up front is that it will not fit/ or be a tight fit in back
you can remedy this by running +4 up front and +12 in back if rotation isn't a requirement
of course it depends on whether you are lowered or not too!
FWIW I had spacers made for me 15X6 +10 Panasports to get the "hex" style caps to fit. The standard +15 wheel with "ribbed" or black caps fit fine

Other caps fit without them:
Black

Ribbed

VTO makes a "Retro 8" minilite style wheel
Just get those and you can run center caps...problem solved!

Are you running a full, undamaged grease cap?
