I think the radiator was a bit lower than the thermostat when mine was put together but not by much. I'm a little concerned that the hose might rub against the shroud. Since the radiator and engine are not directly attached to each other they will move independently and start sawing away at the hose.

There are a few of us roadster owners in the Sacramento area. I'd have to work on recalling names but there are roadster owners that I know of in Citrus Heights, South Sacramento, Elk Grove, El Dorado Hills, Rancho Cordova, Cameron Park and Placerville.
