That's what I was wondering but didn't want to hijack the thread. Sorry Ross!

Yes, the M3 is the Alfa replacement. No, the mess isn't fully finished (the fat lady started to sing, but I was forced to interrupt after the insurance company slapped me with a $2500 salvage reassessment fee that they came up with after the final verdict had been reached. I had already bought the car back from them and turned around and sold the remains. Its a BS fee that I might be able to reverse.)

There is a silver lining to the mess however, I'll be able to buy this M3 and go visit my aunt in Vancouver and my grandmother in Langley as well as meet everyone at the brunch. Perhaps some cool cars will brave the weather (its looking sunny, not really that warm however) as well.

I really do look forward to meeting anyone who shows up.

Well, every cloud as they say... Good for you to see it! Typical insurance gong show. The M3 looks sweet. Usually we go from Canada to Cali to get the cool stuff... Hope you got a good deal! Hope you guys all have a blast... We will be thinking of you as we shovel our walk.

The M3 is easily $10K less that what its really worth. Its likely the best deal for one in all of North America. I've spent the past 6 months looking at them and I've only found about 5 with similar mileage, 3 of the 5 had more miles, and the two that had fewer looked like they had been through a war. One of them is on Ebay right now, its white and very beaten. The 3 better ones have been at least $10K more than what I'm paying for this car and they didnt' show as well. So yes, I'm getting a good buy. Garth was impressed by the car, he took a look at it for me. The one and only downfall wiht this car is that I'll have to figure out how to convert kM to mph in my head. I know 100km is about 60 mph, so I'll have to guess outside of that (and I was so looking forward to having an accurate speedo that I could easily read.)

I am always driving backwards speedo cars... My Highlander is from Texas, my 350 is from Texas, my roadsters are both old... My work truck, a 92 HiAce from Japan is the only thing I own that speaks in KM's... The most accurate rule is 5 Miles is 8 Km... (the conversion is 1.6 km to 1 mile.) 55 is 88. 60 is 96... It gets easier... She is a beauty too. What are you going to do with all them crazy power accessories? Door locks? Windows... Lap of luxury... It probably has MPH on the inside of the speedo ring too... so you can cheat if your math fails you!

Crazy power accessories, yeah, I don't know about those. Power locks, well, I'll still likely not lock the thing since I'd rather someone just open the door to steal the stereo. Really, door locks are just there to keep the honest people out. The sunroof will likely get lots of use, . One of the cool things I like is that the rear windows open like those on a 510 or my Alfa, the later cars (89-91) don't open. I'm not sure why they did this.
As for the speedo, no luck on the inner ring in mph. I wouldn't have worried about it if it did.

Looking good. Wish I could be there. You all can think of me as I am driving down the highway to haul my 69 parts car home just about the exact same time you are having brunch. ;)

I think the guy I'm buying the car from is going to come out as well. He is a Datsun guy, he's looking for another 240Z. He's had a pair of 510s, and a Z in the past.

I have been updating the "who's coming and what they are bringing" list. Looks like its going to be a a good gathering. Will, glad to hear that you are bringing along the soon to be former owner of your new car. The more the merrier. I am hoping to hear from more local guys.

Thanks for hosting the event Ross.

I was great to meet and talk to Will and see his new ride. Yes, I will have my roadster at the next Sports Imports event! Daryl too if he stops tinkering with his.
