SP212 Fairlady found

Post by wineguy »

Along with the SRl-196 frame, I found a SP212, I think its a 61 or 62, but dont quote me on that. From what i understad only about 125 of these cars came to the US. Anyone up for a BIG restoration project.

Chuck:
I'm North of you near the OK border in Powderly, TX. Are you just being rhetorical, or is this yours or somewhere here in TX? Sam

I'm a little farther north, Kansas, but I might be interested also. Where is it located, in Austin?

Chuck,

Consider me interested. Do you have any pictures or other information on the 212? Have a trailer, will travel to Texas no problem. Brought my current roadster back from AZ so Texas is much closer. Thanks.

Sounds like a good candidate for an engine swap. I think that a 350 Chevy is a bit much - maybe a 305? If we need to keep it all Nissan, how about the V8 from the new Titan? Maybe even make it all wheel drive...

Oh come on, there's no room for a 305 under that little bonnet. The obvious answer is rotary power!

Bonnet?? What on earth would you want to put that back on for? It would make it more difficult for the GMC 8-71 that would be stuck on the top...

Just think about it - the roar that you would hear when the three little red butterflies open as the engine starts sucking in children and small animals...

After you lift it for the four wheel drive, why not reverse the trunk lid and add a rumble seat? Plenty of leg room now that the rear axle is 3 feet below the floor plan.
