opening a '65 clock!

Hi all,

The clock in my car looks a bit crappy - it has a plastic face that has deteriorated after many years in the hot Australian sun and I'd like to replace it with glass. It is a factory clock, but I assume the plastic is not factory?!

I've got the clock out and have had a bit of a look at it. Looks like the chrome bevel should come off easily enough, there is just a couple of little tabs to bend back.

Is it as simple as that?

How do I remove the time adjustment knob?

Has someone done this before?

Hate to break it to you, but plastic was stock on the clock back then. It has been long enough that I don't recall how to remove the stem. If it runs OK, but the lens is just crazed, just get some mag wheel polish and polish it. You may be able to rejuvinate it with that. If it is worse, but not cracked, you may need to wet sand it first.
