I've always been comfortable taking our all metal heater cores to a competent radiator shop. Mine was last repaired many many years ago, i think I paid $35. Though it was at least 10 years ago.

Mac's Radiator in Portland,OR can rebuild that if you strike out on an aftermarket fix.
