My roadster and yours

Well as you might already know i bought the car for $3000. Looked at it acouple of times looked good..did have a tree accident but not to bad..just need a fender and hood..recent repaint, engine rebuild, new carpet and seats done in tweed, also new top (has holes) and new tonue (spelling?) cover...but the car sat for 3 years!!!

Well one mile done the road...steam!!!!! blew the head gasket..call tow truck...Bought a fender off sidney raper (great guy) ended up i thought i had the wrong year do'h! so i find another one but a 69 but looks really good..found a fiberglass hood no scoop..( no biggie) the radiator hits the hood and the master cyl., ok need to clearnce it for the master and lower the rad.

got it running today (finally!!!) but it is missing on #3 cylinder...trying to get that working... the car has no rust from what i see..trunk lid cracked where the trim piece goes..(the outside hole) no biggie i guess can weld it up...

so i have replaced the fender and hood and doing a great paint job (viper blue, maybe silver stripes) need the finish the interior (hate the dash cover need to replace it)

car has an electric fan and fuel pump, also has a header...

doe sit sound like i paid to much?

i also need to either rechrome the tails and get another rh headlight trim..( or do i paint it a body color or b silver to match the stripes, or c black?)

someone added speakers in the doors not bad but could look better..i think i may need door panels atleast the top and door sill panels (did they have these?)

sorry for rambling on but i just thought maybe you would want to know about my car and my journey to finish it...

i plan on turboing the car and build over 200hp on the r16 motor, with the su's maybe move up to solexs when the time comes..

any other ideas?

also.. the engine bay was painted black..it should be body color correct? all the lines where painted black also should they be natural? (brake lines wiring, etc)

and my head lights won't turn on..any ideas on that?

Your headlights may be the headlights are gone, or you need a headlight relay, or they are unplugged, or your light switch doesnt work.

I got my car for free, my uncle gave it to me due to loss of interest, and his son(my cousin) couldnt rebuild what he took apart. Many parts of this car were stored at my uncles shop, where the shop was cleaned out one day, and most of the cars parts were gone to the dump !! All of the parts were good(harnesses, gas tank, grill, soft top. etc.....). I have bought many parts, and a parts car to complete this car, I have had the car since May 2004? And have managed to finally complete it, and have it running. I had to do a bit of work(body off thing), I only built it back together, not a fancy resto due to being 15 years old, with no job.

Who's next? I would like to hear someone elses story on their roadster!
