Bump
Bill mentioned his annual Datsun gathering.
There is a fun run included.

BUMP BUMP!!!
Its less than 3 weeks until the 4th Annual Shedd BBQ/Fun Run on the 20th of August. The Fun Run will take us along the foothills of the Cascades with a few stops along the way. Then ending up back at Bill & Karen Neal's place for the gathering of Roadsters.
Like each previous year we are hoping to see at least 20 roadsters between the run and BBQ, for roadsters it has been in the teens each year so lets make it 20 this year. Hope to see you there... Bill

Bill, I've had to give in to the fact that my car just isn't going to be done this year......might still make the BBQ but it will be in something other than a roadster.

I need to find a babysitter to be able to go. My wife is working that day and my daughter is too young to ride in the roadster.

Here is a link to a Google map that shows the BBQ location and Fun Run starting point, which is very close to Interstate 5 and Hwy 34. For those who are traveling, the Neals have enough room to camp out, pass out, or park an RV if needed. As for lodging I would recommend the Albany or Corvallis area. Hope to see you there... Bill

Would anyone like to meet up along I-5 to drive down to Bill's Saturday morning? I will be leaving from Canby, Oregon.

I'm still hoping to make it - I found some childcare for my daughter, but I've just got my car running fairly well after the carb swap.

Want to meet at the rest stop on I-5 south of Wisonville or is there a better place? What time would be good?

Yes, that is a good place to meet. Leave the rest stop by 9-9:15am should put us at Bill's by 10:30am easy.

Anyone else?

Many thanks to Bill Neal for the great hospitality today! I had some conflicts with work so we could not make the cruise, but later in the day we made it out to the event (just as 4 cars were leaving!) I heard an unofficial count of 22 roadsters(!?), which is awesome!

We had a special guest with us today, Jack Scoville drove my 66 roadster, I drove Eric Straw's awesome SR20DET powered roadster, and Eric took his SR20DET powered 510 out to the event. We had a spirited drive out to Bill's, and Jack had no problem pushing the roadster for all it was worth! The smile on his face at the end of the day told the story-- he had a great day!

Thanks again, look forward to seeing you all again soon!

I too want to thank Bill and Karen Neal for hosting one of the best roadster events that I have attended. The day started out meeting up for the Fun Run, we had 12 Roadsters and a 620 pickup on the run. It was great to see our freinds Pete B. and Dave S. from Roseburg arrive for the fun run. Then from the north came Jason W., Leigh B., and Richard S. Then I believe Ken from the Sacro. area in his beautiful Blue KA24 car arrived. Along with Nicole Y., Bruce E., Don P. in there early 1600s, Dave N. and Bill N. in there 68spl's and finally me in my 70 srl.
Yes, it was a big surprise to see Jack Scoville there, we had no idea he was going to show up with Micheal and Eric and to even get to see him drive up in a roadster.
I have a link to a few photos on Webshots, just click on the photo, plus I will have more posted in the following week. Next year will be the 5th annual Shedd BBQ and hope to see you there... Bill
