One thing to keep in mind is that the air curls around the cab and blows back toward the windshield while the car is under way, hence all the "blockers" currently in fashion that mount between the seat backs on convertibles.
Opening up the back window could result in a lot of air coming
in. Seems to me that relieving the pressure inside the cockpit would do a lot for improving airlflow through.
If you've got the room under the rear window (or above, or on the side), maybe adapting the rear deck air vents (the rectangular ones) from an early 240Z would be an alternative. Keeping it in the family, so to speak.
