My SR20 is a little crusty, so Ive got to figure out a way to get the aluminum clean without rebuilding. Once I get the front hubs and SPRISO brakes assembled, I will put it on the ground set the motor in place, (for about the 15th time) and set up the driveshaft.

I love seeing the parts laid out like that, clean and ready to go!
This is great to watch!

I have scraped about 2 gallon jugs of gunk and crud from th chassis. Wire brushed by hand then benchtop wire wheeled small parts, tie rods steering box ball joints etc, sand blasted and applied 1 coat of por15. Seems as tough as the powder on th frame and suspension. I didn't have the spindles from the balljoints out disassembled when it went to powder,,,

I have about 150-200 hours in the project so far i think. every day at least an hour, even if its just picking up tools and sweeping. I had not been doing much in the shop for 5 or so years due to a shoulder tear. This project has givin me a good reason to
Clean the shop
Replace dull bulbs
Service the blast cabinet an add a 2nd light.
Service my welder, fill the tank ,new spool, new liner.
Clean the benchtops
Found tools I havnt seen in years
Clean my tool box, etc

I appreciate the support of 311s

Hung the 66 dash in place to see how it fit. Used one existing hole (aft) on each side. I will take some pics during the process. I'll be guessing all the way, haven't seen much on dash swaps. Gonna mill my hubs and calipers sun, wheels should be on by Friday!!!

There has been plenty of discussion on the high to low windhield dash swap, and plenty of people have done it. I thought that there was a thread or instruction on how to do it here or in the tech wikki but a quick search and I coudn't find it either. Someone will chime in, I know it's here somewhere!
