It wouldn't be the craziest thing, 6 people get together and buy one, better if they lived close by each other, but shipping person to person would only be $10.00 or so.

I had the same thought on the wheel/tire measuring jig, you only really need it once.

It'd still be cheaper to pay for 1/10th of the cost and then ship it to the next person that needs it.

Painted the oil pan and a couple random engine bits yesterday, block is masked and ready to spray once it's not raining. Got a few hours into cleaning the engine bay.

I'd be happy to loan out my LM-2 but whoever borrows it would need to get their own O2 sensor. Not a big cost.

Just keep in mind that these are electronic parts and could be damaged by improper install, etc. If someone fries it, who is gonna pay? I think I had less than $200 into mine, and I like having it available all the time. I took the car out for the first time to get some fresh gas this past friday and noted it was idling and running rich on the stabile treated gas I had in it and did not improve with the injection of fresh gas. When the weather consistently improves and I get the old gas out of it, I will see what's what. You wouldn't think that things would change, but it is possible. I was running the car without the airbox on it (doing a redesign) so maybe that was the issue. But if my new box flows differently, or the different velocity stacks cause changes, I want to know... that's why I have one I keep.

Engine before and after blackberry pics, now I'm scrubbing down the engine bay to respray it, then will start putting the bits and pieces back on the motor and get it ready for the carbs/manifold.

Its like its a new motor. Nice work. I'm still scrubbing gunk out from around my fingernails left over from the extraction project.

Kinda crap picture, but the Mikunis are here. Will get better pics of the linkage/etc once it's all installed and hooked up. Trying to have it ready for the Turn Z event at Sonoma Historics in 3 weeks.

I like it! What about those two plugs in the manifold? I bet you can use that to hook up a manometer to sync your carbs

Per the suggestions here, I'm shopping for a wideband kit to get them tuned right. Looks like grabbing an Innovate setup off Amazon is the best bet.

Nice looking set up... fun to get that kinda stuff in the mail! I tend to set things like that out, look at it, walk way, come back and look at it, repeat about a dozen times... fun! The wideband kits have really come down in price... looks like a great set up and already less than what I think I paid last summer. You won't regret that purchase.

So Will came over yesterday and we had the goal of getting the motor in the car.

We didn't get very close.

The header and intake manifold are each a totally different thickness, so we've got to figure out how to even them up. Also, the linkage that Wolf Creek did wasn't even close. It was an arm that wanted to pull from the filter side of the setup, not the manifold/motor side. So, we've taken my stock "pie shaped" throttle cable attachment and we're trying to figure out how to make it fit on the new, smaller arm. It has to be mounted to the bottom and pull up to open the carbs correctly. Also working on fabricating a piece to mount to the center motor bolts to hold the throttle cable since there is nothing there anymore.

We will be sure to get a good "how to" once we sort this all out. On the plus side, the GM alternator is installed and looking good.

The little "tabs" welded onto the exhaust manifold are there to make it the same "thickness" as the intake manifold where the two join together. You need to use the correct washers that span across the two. They're available from the vendors if you don't have them.

The bits and pieces of the linkage look like they can be made to work. I'm used to seeing a center pull linkage on the Mikunis, not one at each end - but it still looks like you can make it work if you can figure out a place to put the throttle cable-stand.
