whats up everybody!

my name is Jordan. 20 years old. im from Northern California. i recently acquired a 64 datsun roadster. my plans for it is to swap an S14 Sr20det into it. track it and just drive it. im the guy that builds the car to be driven, and DRIVES IT! im new to the roadster but certainly not cars. for BG info, ive built some pretty common cars: 88 CRX si B18c5 sleeper 12k redline 12.3 1/4 mile. 89 S13 coupe S14 SR20det. 87 AE86 coupe Blacktop 20v 4age. i havent built too many cars but i dont think ill ever stop. im a rotor-wing aircraft mechanic by profession and occupation.

as much background as i have with mechanical junk, im here to learn more.

-cheers

welcome aboard.

I remember reading a post on how difficult the SR20 swap is in a 310.. make sure you do a lot of research and check in with Spriso for help and inspiration.

Welcome to the fray! Nice to have another import guy. I'm looking forward to some pictures when you get back to Cali as well. Keep us posted with the rest. There is a guy on Craigslist in Stockton selling a 66 1600 for cheap! If it was closer I'd pick it up myself, point is, if the 64 isn't an easy swap for the SR20 then the 66 sure is an easier project. I think the guy has it posted for $900 and says it has a real straight body. The engine is unknown and doesn't run but what do you care, you would be replacing it anyway!

I can tell you for sure that the transmission tunnel on a 64 is smaller. Michael posted a link to the actual swap. There is also the drum brakes, different rear axle and very small fender flares.
