Sports Imports BBQ September 26

Post by sports imports »

We are having our fall BBQ on Saturday, September 26 at the Quonset hut. Meet at 11 am for a nice drive through the Fraser valley and BBQ at 1 pm. BYO meat and drink, lawn chair, and something to share. Darryl, no need for Beatrice's cookies as my Dad will not be there.

I like cookies too! Just have to get her to make the right ones!! :D
Got my roadster running better, so as long as the weather is good I'll drive it! Don't know if Bea will come....
I mentioned it to Larry, he's going to try to make it, I think he want's to talk to someone who may or may not be playing "bumper cars" with
his old car.......

new owner of Larry's old car not responsible for SUV taking out a fog light, hood, and grill. New owner has put on 3000 miles, Larry in the 10 years he owned it, did not put 3000 miles on it.

Weather Forecast is GREAT.
I will be there to check out our Canadian Brother's roadsters and
make sure they all have their roadster gas caps on CORRECT!
Violations will be posted!
Hope to have 3 or 4 more "foreigners" ( or "friends from the South" as Garth prefers) come along.
Pictures posted here Saturday night.

Rumor has it there will be a 1957 Patrol in attendance. Not a typo, that's right, a 1957!!!!

Ross
ps make sure you bring something to throw on the Barby, something to drink a may be a lawn chair. We are trying not to use paper plates, so bring a plate and some cutlery and your coffee cup.

I seem to still have somebodies folding chairs (2) from the Kelowna trip in the trunk of my
Datsun.......

Ted,
Last I remember you were asking about the composite springs, did you pull the trigger on those, or waiting for a ride to compare?

Those are Kevin's chairs. Weather is looking great. Susan found 20 nice plates at a garage sale, so if you are short a plate, we have you covered. We have a short drive planned to White Rock beach and Crescent beach where we will park and have Ted the photographer regale you with wondrous pictures of the cars in attendance.
I am supplying 2 salads (thanks to Sue)
condiments (mustard, ketchup, relish, BBQ sauce, tomatoes from the garden, lettuce, pickles)
coffee, cream and sugar
some smokies, burgers, and buns
onions, mushrooms, dinner rolls

please bring something to throw on the barby, some drink, lawn chair, and something to share

we could use some appies, salads, and deserts, ice, drinks,

Looking forward to seeing you all.

GREAT day at the Sports Imports BBQ in BC today.
17 Datsuns including 12 roadsters.
A gray start turned to a beautiful afternoon.
A short drive along the water ended in a great spot for a group photo.
Then back to the shop for a fine BBQ and good camaraderie with our Canadian hosts.
The very rare early 1957 PATROL was there.
There were numerous gas cap violations!. The pictures are in the link.
With respect to our gracious Canadian hosts, the owners of the improperly placed caps will not be named!
Here are a few photos. More in the link below.
THANKS to Ross for another fine Sports Imports gathering.
