I was the guy with the green 1960 DeSoto last year that just happened upon this annual gathering of Fairlady Faithfuls and downright nutty bunch. The dinner was fun. I delivered the old DeSoto to a very nice man, Justin Schiess, in Rochester nearby. He picked up where I left off and finished many details that needed attention, so the old girl has a good future! Big sleds are not my thing. My interests lie in massaging my foursome fleet of 311's, of which none has a current tag affixed. I also have decent original MGB 1971 and TR8 1980, and 85 300ZX which all run very well, but nothing like a good old 311.
I drove Creamy, a 68, up to Maine and back to Asheville NC in August 2013, and attended the Hemmings sponsored event at Saratoga on the way, and the national Z car convention in Nashua NH, too. The designer of the HS30 gave a talk about the 240Z developement in Japanese with an interpreter lady. Bob Sharp gave a talk and a Nissan V8 powered race car from the mid-'80's was on display. The only part of the car that came from a Z was the top and windshield of a Z31 (84-89 series, the forgotten, in between Fairladies, of which I have a 1985 example). I had not driven any of my roadsters for a couple of decades and that trip just beat me to death! I will for sure put an AC in at least my every day driver! I forgot how well my Koni's worked on my '69 I have had since 1979! Creamy had toasted her dash harness two years before so I had to use alligator clip jumpers to get the right things to work, too. She hasn't been driven since I got back, I turned the tag in and cancelled her insurance and here it is a year has passed and I just have to drive up there again. I will put new Koni's on. I will get those electrics sorted. I have collected fittings and tools from Vintage Connections and a great fuse and 7 relay box to overhaul the electrics from a guy makes them for TR6's. Very nice setup. I'm not sure but I think I will be switching to ground to actuate the relays. Also I would prefer the flasher and brake lights be integrated, upper and lower lamps operate simultaneously, as per my '69. Seven relays: Ignition, headlamps, park lamps, brake lamps, horn, radio/heater, fuel pump etc others could be added inline.

Oh, forget all that, I'll just drive Blackie, all done up like she is. She is impressive! See you all soon, from down here in Brew City!
Need anything that I can bring? I have a huge pile of spares from junking 4 cars. Blackie has only a thousand miles on her since a complete frame-off, nut, bolt, piston and bearing rebuild. I have my AAA card!

Kudos to the NC Guy for making the drive up to New York, going for the longest distance?
Enjoy!

Blackie and I made State College PA from Asheville NC yesterday with no mishap. All is good. When and where to meet y'all at Watkins Glen this evening? I am driving from State College if anyone else is near.
