Steve,

So your 67 and 66 drain hoses go pretty much straight down from the grommet. They dump out on the bell housing? That's what mine looks like.

No, both come out of the firewall center and if you are standing in front of the car they jog left a wee bit before 90 down to the bracket that holds it is place. So both actually end up to the left side of the bell housing not the center. Hope that is clear as mud. I do not have the old one for either car for reference but they do look to be the same.

Thanks for your input Steve

Rats, The hose that I modeled mine after must not be an original hose after all. Looks like I'll need another 9o degree bend after the grommet exit to get the hose to dump on the passenger side of the tunnel. I really, really, really need a good pic of an original hose with a scale next to it so I have a reasonable shot at getting this right. My car is a resto-mod so some of the original holes and clips on the firewall no longer exist. Plus, I've killed off way to many brain cells to remember what was actually there. :)

I wish I had one. Someone will come through for us. I bet Mike Young has one or two lying about.

Thanks so much Richard!

For some good news I received a quotation from a silicon hose manufacturer. Tooling for my design was $273.33 and part cost would be $10.60 each. So If I amortize the tooling over a 20 piece run I come up with $24.24 part cost. Then there is freight to PA for the order, then freight of each piece to you from PA. That's way less than I thought it would be. Based on what I'm seeing in Richards photos, that quote will probably go up quite a bit. Looks like the OEM hose is much longer and has a few more bends than my CAD model had. So if I can keep this under $50 I'm thinking it may still be a viable project.

Thoughts?

Steve

We need an original one so the bends come out right or it might not clear the other stuff in there. $50, I'll pay.

Ditto, $50 is reasonable for the CORRECT part.

Nope no money. Need to get my hands on an original so I can measure it up and do a CAD model. Richard has a good one but it looks like he's in the Netherlands so that's probably not practical. If someone has something complete, I'll pay shipping both ways to borrow it for a week.
