Yes, they might bend easier if they meet a piston (rather than knocking a hole in it), but its really just excellent metallurgy for today's gas, valve seats, and either original or the bronze guides. Inconel and titanium are better for some extreme/turbo uses, but way more money, these are great for any non-turbo engine.

Top shelf, high chromium,21-4N. Excellent alloy for SS high performance exhaust valves. (Used in thousands of modern engines and racing applications.). Should go a very long time.

If you want Ti, can build those too-may require a 2nd mortgage lol. These are quite nice for the cost! J

I did not think you could add much to Stainless ( iron and nickel)
try cutting through a stainless bolt and a low carbon bolt , after you get through the oxide , which is a bit tough it cuts easily , much softer than the steel

IIRC, they should be surface hardened on tip if going for long term usage.

Naturally these have hardened tips as well. ( must be ground, can't be machined ).

It's actually much less of an issue on the U 20 since the last pad is the hardened wearing surface. The lash pad serves as a wear cap and the wear usually occurs on the underside of the lash pad, not the valve.

I maintain a very high standard with my reproductions. No cheapy,budget stuff allowed. If I would use them in my engines, it's excellent, end of story! Peace Jt

Stainless steel alloys have been the go to material for valves for many, many, years...

There are many different stainless steel alloys, for many different uses, I've seen one so soft just gripping it with a pair of pliers would mark it with the lines of the plier jaws....
