The other small shop lift.....Ranger Quickjack

I built a 20'X24' shop last summer. Mainly for my 4 motorcycles but also can work on my Roadster,MX5, or GF Z3. So I bought the 3500 wt. capacity lift for $999 + free shipping they make 2 larger ones also. I see someone is bad mouthing the Quick jack. I like the hydraulics, the leak proof hose fittings when they are disconnected. They make the one I have to plug into 110V or you can get the one that just uses a car battery. Mine has a hand held switch that has up/down buttons. The lifts are easy to move around,place under the frame push the button and walla. You do want a concrete floor for your safety if nothing else. Take a look at the video on their web site using the BL5000 and putting tons on weight on it for demo.
I don't know, I love the darn thing. OK its electric over hydraulic its not manual,the lifts don't hook together.......but.

Seems like a lot of the issues were in the older models. That thread started back in 2014. From reading through the posts, it seems that the company is responsive and works to correct problems as customers bring them to their attention.

I'm also curious what the jack points are. I've been considering buying one of these.

On a full frame car, are the jack points that critical?

I didnt read this guys complaints....dont have time for that. Its like buying a $40,000 SUV you can always find faults. The only thing a bit fiddly is the locks to make sure it wont come down...with you under. I like to check them before going under anyway. I have used on of my cars without any trouble. Also has 6 rubber shims to put on the ramps before lifting.
1970 Datsun, put under the frame like you might jack stands. Used on my 2000 MX5, my G/friends BMW Z3, just got a 97 BMW 328i. Works great on all.
When not in use I put the hoses and pump in a plastic tote, put the ramps in the coroner. There are little wheels on one end of the ramps so you can lift the other end and just push them around. You could even put them cross wise, under the car if the car is wide enough.
Not telling anyone to buy them but wish I had the $999.00 long before for these. At 68 yrs my last bday I dont crawl around like I used too.

Just thought I'd mention that during my last routine visit to the doctor, I mentioned to him that I was having a little difficulty getting up from a sitting position on the garage floor. Some dizziness, etc. He suggested that I make a list of everything that needs to be done at different levels of the car and plan on working my way up to a standing position repair by repair.

I probably could have used something like this yesterday after fighting my step son's Mazda protege and its worn out axle shafts. Couldn't get the damn things to pop out of the diff for anything no matter what angle I took or what pry bar I used, and I have done a few on other cars. I was successful by finally raising it up higher which somehow gave me a better angle, but at that point I was almost blind with frustration so I have no idea what actually worked. If I hadn't been so exhausted by the fight I would have thrown the damn things down the road. I did stand over it and yell "I WIN MOTHER F'ER!! You did not defeat me!!" I felt better.
I did get to buy a new impact wrench which I am sure will come in handy was I do the front suspension on the Datsun. As she knows I will never yell at her. Other cars don't hold a special spot like this.
