35th Annual Mt. Shasta Meet

Post by Datsun AshLee »

Hey everyone...Don't forget the Mt. Shasta meet is coming up Sept. 19 - 21. By majority vote we switched the date so it wasn't so HOT!! Of course we have a few people not happy with the date switch but we sent out emails to everyone on our mailing list so they could vote and majority rules. This is the 35 annual meet and we are trying to make it the best, So if you haven't registered yet go to our website and register.
Hope to see you all there!!

Mt Shasta Datsun Roadster Meet. Sept 19-21

LAST Roadster meet of the year.
Have not been to a meet yet this year?. This is the one!
A meet with a long history and always a great time.
More of a gathering like SHEDD with activities Thursday night, Friday and the show/awards dinner on Saturday.
Link with all the details below.
Only 550 miles from Seattle. or SoCal. An easy 1 day drive on I5.
35 roadsters registered so far. Should be over 50.
You better be there. I am taking attendance and Demerits will be issued. 8)

TED! Do you still pitch your tent up in the high country? How far up the mountain do you have to dive to find a good place to boondock? I may try to make the drive up Friday night... hit the show Saturday morning and then head back home after the show... :smt080

Hi Jared,
Yes, GOOD FREE camping in the National Forest on Mt Shasta.
I usually camp at about 6500' for a nice cool night.
The best spot is about a mile below the climbers camp ground. About 13 miles from town.
On the way up it is a large flat area on your right on a large 180 degree curve in the road.
Since the show is later this year and it will not be as hot, there are many camp spots closer and lower.
Hope you can make it!

Ahhh, thanks for the info Ted! I'm not going to make it up there this year. :( My roof on my house is currently torn off at the moment and this little bit of rain we got here has slowed down my install of the new roof and reminded me that I need to stay home and do some roofing this weekend

It looks like the weather will be nice for the show tho! Take some good pictures and hopefully I'll see you up there next year!!!

Day 1. 9-19-19.
Successful caravan of 5 from the Seattle area. 4 roadsters. (3 driven, 1 trailered) and a Z.
Weather was dry and cool. About 11 hours. Close to 600 miles for me.
Nippy night for the Ice cream social but a good turnout of about 25 folks
Keith's ice cream was superb as usual.
Great to meet up with old friends and roadsters. Many more arriving today.

Great day today, Ted put on one of his really great fun runs, and we had a great time at Shastice Park picnic lunch and the coast. Many thanks to the Tilton’s for putting on a great event.

Curious as to how the new latter dates went over. I see lots of jackets in the photos, so it looks like the hope of cooler weather was achieved. Hard to imagine the jackets, as it's still in the mid ninety's here in Oklahoma. How many roadsters showed up? As I've mentioned before Karen and I are planning a RV trip to the northwest next September and would like to include the Shastsa meet. Are next years dates set yet?

IMO, much better weather for the show. Mid to high 70’s and sunny vs. 90-00’s for July usually. Weather has been unusually cool/wet for September this year it seems so glad the rain did not make an apperance. I believe the count was about 30-35 at the show. I had a great time talking with many people, and as usual everyone was as friendly as could be. Well, Ted was Ted so there is that    he had me kicked me out of parking in his group by ratting to the organizers so as to keep the competition in his class to a minimum! Just rude.

GEEE , try to do a friend a favor!
Mark is color blind so could not tell by his card color that he was in the custom, not modified, class.
Better for him as he could not compete against the superior modified roadsters!!  .
He does not know this yet, as he left early and did not go to the awards banquet, he got FIRST place in Custom!!
All thanks to his uncle Ted.
