Historic Speedway Meadow (Hellman Hollow)
Golden Gate Park
San Francisco, CA
7 am to 4 pm

Park your vehicle on beautiful Hellman Hollow (aka Speedway Meadow)for a donation to benefit the developmentally disabled.
Cars & trucks $40, motorcycles $20, bicycles $10.

1987 or older year limit for vehicles. No vehicles larger than 3/4 ton pickup. No other vehicles allowed on meadow. No exceptions. No in & outs.
No vendors or amplified music. Please respect the Park and its neighbors. The SFPD will be on duty and issue citaions for traffic and parking violations.

San Francisco Old Car Picnic benefits programs for the developmentally disabled.

Every year this event gets more and more popular. From what I understand, there are 500+ vehicles that attend. This was once a BADROC tradition. I think we had up to 12 roadsters in 2001. Anyone interested in showing this year?

It used to be called, "Jimmys Old Car Picnic". It started many years ago by Jimmy, the head gardener of Golden Gate park. It was an annual get together of his buddies and their classic cars. Well, the event grew and grew and now its a San Francisco motorsport staple.

If you want to see some amazing vehicles in a classic San Francisco setting, this is an event that must not be missed.

Also, remember to bring food and a shade. It can get hot out in the sun. This is an amazing family event. I hope to see you there.

I will be there with both a car and motorcycle.

Great meet. Attended back in the BADROC days.

Here is a shot (used in a Jimmy's Old Car Picnic Article Last Year) of Calspeed's roadster, with a Jimmy's daughter . Jamie, at the wheel.

Thanks for the post, Michael.
Thanks for that memory. I remember letting folks sit in the car and putting on the harness. It was lots of fun.
