I got invited to enter a car show!

Post by Natenate4s »

A guy promoting a car show stopped by and looked at my Fairlady today. He said it was beautiful and wanted me to enter it in a car show this Saturday. It's not quite ready for that but it was a big compliment!

I agree, it doesn't have to be perfect to be cool and to represent Roadsters everywhere. Go for it!

Thanks guys! It's has some issues I need to work on like scratches, and a real bad bubbling spot by the gas cap where gas leaked out, gas overflow leaks, etc. Plus I wouldn't even know what do do when I got there. Lol. But maybe someday.

Do it. It sounds like it is a local show. Normally it is peer judging and it is not very nit-picky.

Take a comfy chair and some sunscreen and hang out. The car will surely attract attention. Be prepared to tell a few stories about her.

Enjoy.

I agree, do it. If you wait until the car is perfect, you may never do it. Besides, you may meet someone who will give you a connection to getting the problems fixed

It looks great from here :) I agree, enter. You are helping the promotor and the public will enjoy the car too. Plus you will get things done you otherwise might not get to in preparation.

Thanks everyone! Now I'm really considering doing it. Here's my worry spots. The engine needs a lot of cleaning up, front bumper and drivers side bumperette need replaced, and that bad bubbling in the paint. I could just leave the hood closed.

No big deal. You will probably be the only car in class and win first place!
Take lots of pictures. rub elbows. eat, drink and enjoy the scenery.

Get a tall camp chair and back it up to the gas cap and hold court from there LOL

Considering that most people have never seen one, you should get lots of attention! Go and show it off.

+1 on what everyone said above. Take pride in actually driving to the show and "show" her off! People will appreciate it and it's good for our community when the cars are seen...regardless of perceived "flaws"

ps...I too have fuel-wrinkled paint in the same exact area and I still attend shows

Yes, make sure you open the hood as the sight of things like twin-carbs make great conversation/stories.

 Alright everyone. I'm in! I took a 20 minute test drive out to the show location tonight, and I made it there and back. Something I haven't been able to say for a long time now. Lol. She's all cleaned up and ready. Wish me luck.
