2015 Norcal Solvang Caravans

Post by bikermike »

I have organized past caravans to Solvang from the SF Bay Area. I don't expect to attend this year, but some who have driven with me in the past have asked. Please use this thread to plan a drive together. Driving Friday down the coast is stunning and a must-do trip in a Roadster. Remember that the Big Sur Marathon is Sunday so your northbound options are limited. http://www.bsim.org/site3.aspx

Alvin,
I'd like to caravan with you if we can meet up somewhere. I'd love to see the route on Highway 1 if you are going that way.
I'm sure you have seen it all before.
Let me know If that works for you.

I'm going down Friday afternoon - any one up for caravanning?

How about we meet at noon at:

In-N-Out Burger
550 Newhall Dr
San Jose, CA 95110

Its just south of San Jose Airport, off of Coleman Ave, near Lowes

Grab a burger, plan the route and head south?

Anyone unemployed or who has Thursday off, join us DROPS members in a caravan
from Hollister to Solvang on Thursday. Going down Hwy 1.
We currently have 3 roadsters driving ( NOT trailered! ) from Seattle.
Judging from the current registered list we have the furthest distance driven award in the bag.
Contact me if you want to meet up.

Who is up for driving down Friday from the Bay Area? I'm taking day off work, so can start whenever. Would love to do some Highway 1 if time.

Mat & Guy,

I'm still planning on Friday departure, Hwy 1 route. Thinking about a 10ish departure from San Jose, lunch in Cambria or SLO area. Project to be in Solvang around 5 and chill for awhile before pre-show festivities. Slightly flexible on departure time.

Other meets have been at Le Boulanger off 85 in Los Gatos, works well.

Kurt - I spoke to Guy and we are planning to meet a caravan of roadsters down in Big Sur on Friday morning to drive down highway 1. Caravan organized by David Witt - not sure on meet time, but I'll post when I hear. We can meet on the way down in San Jose, likely early.

Thanks Mat, let me know. I prefer not to leave much earlier so to let the day warm up a little and give the fog a chance to burn off...but a caravan would be fun!
