Products that work/favorite product

Post by Gregs672000 »

Thought I would start a list of favorite off the shelf car products that work as advertised, etc. Thought about this the other day when I was again using my California Duster and just loving that product. It's nice to know what works and what doesnt...

So, as I said, LOVE the California duster... unless the car gets wet or totally bug covered, I rarely have to wash her during the summer.
Mequires Clay bar... makes the paint feel like butter!
Eagle One Nanowax... takes out swirls better than anything I've ever used... great wax for paint that is not oxidized.
Prestolite Cataclean catalitic converter cleaner... worked in my Celica and turned off the check engine light in one tank. Been fine for several months so far.
Snail version or Midlock version of the carb airflow meter for carb balancing... much better than a unisyn as it won't slow airflow when reading it.
Speed bleeders.

What do you all like?

My cheap harbor freight bench buffer and my expensive skat blast blasting cabinet. Both do exactly what they are susspose to do, and have saved many dollars on my restoration.

+1 on the duster, nanowax and clay bars for the paint. +1 on evaporust/metal rescue. Surf City Garage's aluminum cleaner. Mother's VLR for the interior. Fischer Classic Car motor oil, and Swepco for the transmission.

Aerospace 303: for maintaining plastic, vinyl, and plasticized leather (NOT for un-coated leather).
Fumoto drain valves; for quicker/cleaner oil changes

**Note: I've used none of these yet on my Datsun as it's being torn down still, but I have used them on many other cars.
