Hardtop is 99% finished!

That is hands-down the best looking top I have ever seen on a Roadster - fantastic job!
The two-tone interior and chrome trip are great additions that really show attention to detail, well done and tasteful!

Looks BEAUTIFUL Alvin -

I'd love to know what you end up with for the weatherstrip at the back. On every top I've ever seen, that has been the first point of failure and always compromises the paint...

My 350z uses a material like 3M Hood protector between the soft top and the tonneau when the top is up, so that is worth trying too, but a good weatherstrip is definitely still critical.

Perfectly executed, as usual. I like the idea of the clear paint protector under the weatherstrip.

That's the car that the rest of us will use when people ask us what a Datsun Roadster is.

The top is far from perfect, but it is good enough for me!
It's funny I was very concerned about the top marring the body paint....then when I got the top back from the painter I realized that the hardtop had better paint than the car...so no 3M necessary. It's a 5-footer

My softop actually did leave some scratches on the rear deck, and it is vinyl. I will post a pic. The hardtop weatherstripping is listed earlier in the thread, straight from Wade's JC WHitney list.

I am stoked because the hardtop will work much better for my needs. I have only folded the softop down maybe 3 times...it's usually a "take the entire thing out or leave it up" affair.

try invisable bra material, make a template out of heavy grade paper, remove tear drops, twisties and posties apply like any other decal let dry reinstall all the hard ware. No more worries about scratches!!

What do you mean, like a wispy lace kind of material
While your sewing stuff, it might be nice to make a light cover/bag for the hardtop and get or make a cockpit cover for overnights, I'm thinking camping at Solvang. And a lock and chain if you leave it at the campsite :D
