Tie Rod Install

Post by NorCalMark »

New Tie Rod Question: I am installing new tie rods from Datsunparts.com. I know there is a right and left, no problem as the boxes are marked. And, I took lots or pics so I know the orientation of the bolts on the end of the balls. But, is there an inner and outer end to each rod, or can they be installed in either direction? Thanks for any guidance. I will also call Dean, but I understand he might not be available right now.

When I installed my new tire rods I found a small issue with a grease zerk contacting the the frame. A couple of minutes with a ball peen hammer solved that issue, but I believe Nissanman is correct, they should face the rear.
