Thought about an sr swap but decided to stick with stock. I especially wouldn't do a swap on a 67.5 or 65 and older.
66 stroker, almost done.
67 basket case, paint coming soon.

Why is that? I really miss having a turbo'd car, and if i went with a stroker or build it would come out 1/2 the cost and half the power. I'm still very early on in the ownership of this car, and have gone back and forth more times than I've vapor locked. Ha ha ha ha

Those models years are the most unique and I love the originals. SR is fine but I wouldn't do it to a car unless it was a basket case without original engine and transmission.

I gotcha. Looks like I need to just d a stroker on this one, and find this basket case you mention!

Since you were thinking about the SR, what route did you end up taking if anything aside from bone stock?

I am not the one to talk to about an SR, Michael Spreadbury and a couple others are.

I have as noted in my signature a 67 and 66. The engine in the 66 driver was really tired. I was offered a 2L R engine for $150 so that is in there now. The original engine is sitting on a pallet.

The 67 has been sitting in the garage since 2001 and is now finally at the body shop. It will be getting a 1.8L stroker using a 1500 crank. At some point I might do the same with the other engine so both cars are numbers matching.

I've been looking through all of his threads for the last year since I got the car. It's always been the end goal, but I'm also on the fence with keeping it stock-ish. I have a ways to go regardless and plenty of things to figure out in the meantime.
