dash light sockets

Post by johnscf »

I am trying to redo a wiring harness on a 68 2000 and would like to replace the wires that go to the sockets for the dash lights. The wires end with a small flat piece that the bottom of the bulb sets against. Anybody know where can I find those pieces?

Yup. Original and new socket washer. They don't melt like the original plastic one.

Thanks Curtis. I thought you’d be the person that would know. So the bottom of the bulb just rests against the little brass insert and I don’t need the flat silver piece in the picture on the left?

You solder the wire in to the brass insert. I always make the solder puddle a bit above the insert so it is rounded.
