Dash lamps

Has anyone found an LED replacement that looks original? Also is there 8 lights in dash? Chris

I took the bulbs from my (dash) flashers to Batteries + Bulbs and they matched them OEM bulbs perfectly with LED replacements. (Sorry, no. I don't have a part number.)
My junk pile:
71 Jeep Gladiator. Restored w/#s matching engine. My WeeBeasty
70 1600 legit 2nd owner. Stroked and bored
Several salvaged w access to a barn full of parts, part cars & whole cars
......What's in the barn is for sale. What do you need?

What do you mean by looks original? You want the lamp to look the same or do you want a yellowish light? You want them brighter, right?

FYI for reference:
viewtopic.php?f=22&t=28050

I found these bulbs a few years ago.

Since then I found shallower ones.

Multi-sided bulbs are better in gauges since they emit light in several directions. I recommend using the same color LEDs as the color of the lenses in the dash. I used white for gauges, amber for turn signals and red for the hi beam indicator in a 67.5. I sanded down the white plastic ring on some of the bulbs to reduce the diameter if they felt too snug going in.

Note that you will lose the ability to dim when you move to LEDs.

Look for bulbs with a “BA9S” socket. The posting linked above has bulb counts.

LED Lights
OMG, these things are perfect. Thanks. They fit in the gauges with no problem. But of course with the stock dimmer switch they're either on or off.

You're welcome!! I love them, and I agree that's a little bit of a draw back, but I haven't found them to be too bright so far.

Nice! I think a write up on the dimmer and LED bulbs would be a great addition to the Tech Wiki. I struggled with the original bulbs for just long enough and for about 10 bucks it was so worth it.
