Seat rail cleaning/lubing?

I took off the worst of the seat rails in my set and started cleaning them up; lots of rust. Everywhere I could get a wire wheel it came off pretty good. Is it possible to separate the two rail pieces to completely clean and then relube? Be great to powdercoat the whole seat rail assembly if I got it apart.

I think there are a couple of crimps in the rails holding the two pieces together.
When I refurbished mine, I got to the same point that you are.
Then I sat them vertically in a tray and poured kerosene down through the two sections where the ball bearings are.
Kept doing that whilst moving the tracks by hand and eventually flushed out all the fluff, dust and unmentionables from the tracks.
Primed and painted gloss black.
For lube I used some white grease (Castrol PH Zinc Oxide) meant for door locks and catches.
Applied that to the ball tracks with a paddle pop stick.
Don't use too much, just enough to allow the tracks to slide smoothly.

Soak them for a couple days in a bucket of evaporust and all the rust and grime will be gone.
