Wheel Size/Offset Fit Question

Anyone know if 15x7 or 15x6 with 12mm offset will fit with very little issue on a 68 2000? Would prefer 15x7 but curious about both. Thanks.

14x6.5 with +13 offset fits beautifully so both should work fine. The 15x7's may be close on the rear fenders with a +12. Depends on what tires you run and how your springs are. Should be okay with 185's and some 195's. If you could find another 5mm offset on the 7 inch wheels you'd be fine.

How would you find another 5mm offset? You mean like 17mm offset or finding spacers? Am I better off with the 15 x 6?

From what I've read and heard the most you can go is 15x7 is the safest you can go without having to flare the fenders.

I think... basically 3 inches deep from inside edge of the rim to drum/rotor face is the most you can go.

No spacers, they can only make the offset more negative. I was suggesting looking for a 15x7 with about 17mm + offset. You'd likely be okay with the +12 offset but I'd try to mount a tire on a wheels and put it on the car to check before shelling out a bunch of cash. Max frontspacing is about 3.5 inches with the rear fender lips rolled. max backspacing is about 4.5 inches. All of that info is in the wheel FAQ on the 311's page.

On the Wheel FAQ, some of the wheels are listed w/ 2 tire sizes.
Like the Panasports: 195/60-14-205/60-14

Does this mean this setup has 195s in the front and
205s in the rear??

Yes you could, but you don't have to.

It would make it kinda sticky to rotate tires

I'm pretty sure when we put that stuff up, we noted any tire sizes that people were running so two sizes would mean that both are know to fit although there may be notes about rubbing with the larger size. I don't recall seeing any roadsters that ran different sizes front and rear.

I know of one car that is running two different width rims and two different sizes of tires. Not a huge difference, but a bit.

The only one I know that does use different size tires is a SCCA racer (He has a website).

In his situation it makes sense since the larger surface back tires helps for more accelerated traction.

Looks might be a factor. For example, the BMW roadster come stock with differrent size tires.

Yes I have all the info. from the 311s wheel info link, but wanted to double and triple check before I ordered anything. I wish I could try a set of rims first on the car, but don't think that can happen. Are there any other cars out there, besides the 240Z that has wheels that will fit a roadster? (other than what's listed on the 311s wheel site) Might make it easier to look for. This link shows the 15's http://www.classicdatsun.com/new/FS15.gif
