67.5 fuse block
So I would post this to quick questions thread but it’s locked up. This is a photo of my fuse block as it has been since purchase of my little baby. Any idea why A & B are jumped?

Re: 67.5 fuse block
Wanted to make sure the car burned for insurance purposes?
Didn't have a penny to put in the fuse slot?
Seriously, my guess is that they did not get power to one of those two supply side fuses and rather than trace back the fault, they just jumped it to get power where they wanted it. Or, they may have wanted to make a fuse circuit "constant on" instead of switched? Just guesses.

Re: 67.5 fuse block
Good one Tom! To bad even if there was insurance it wouldn’t begin to cover the investment! guess I could disconnect it and see what happens. Just was checking to see if maybe this was common. It amazing what folks think up.notoptoy wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 3:55 pm Wanted to make sure the car burned for insurance purposes?

Re: 67.5 fuse block
Was that huge black cable (Yellow terminal) brought over straight from the battery? Is that White wire (Blue terminal) from the alternator directly??

Re: 67.5 fuse block
Not sure which of the above posts are meant to be funny or are just silly....
Here is the answer:
The bottom fuse is just for the horn. The fuse terminal to the left when facing the fuse block is normally directly connected to the starter battery cable via a green/white wire for continuous power . My guess is that connection became intermittent or melted, so the PO added the jumper. Electrically that's not a significant problem, the fuse still gets 12V, but aesthetically the wiring qualifies as a typical PO rig/repair.

Re: 67.5 fuse block
If the PO had put the jumper under the existing wires, you may never have noticed it....

Re: 67.5 fuse block
Thanks Gents! I disconnected it and have not found anything not working. I’d like to replace the fuse block as it looks very bad (maybe not as bad Robs) but am afraid the wiring might not survive the stress. Maybe it time for a new wiring harness.
Cheers!

Re: 67.5 fuse block
You can clean up the block unless it is damaged.
