Patton Machine EFI
Has anyone done this? I have considered this system for my 510's and my Roadster 1600 and 2000 but never took the plunge even though his results are outstanding for fuel economy, performance, etc. His site says he supports HS4 and HS6 SU's (our 1600's and 2000's) but my question is will they bolt up to our Japanese SU carb copies? Seems to me to be way easier a conversion that other EFI systems.

Re: Patton Machine EFI
The Pics on the site feature both 510/ZCars so I’d say yes. 2000 and Z carbs have same bolt pattern. I’d definitely be subscribed to your conversion if you go that route.

Re: Patton Machine EFI
I had email conversations with him last year and he had previously done some Datsun stuff but didn't have enough demand so no longer did it and would not be interested in selling to me (I was asking for a friend's car). Maybe he will now, but not last year.

I would follow the thread if anyone does it.

Re: Patton Machine EFI
Goldhawg,
He might not be interested in selling a 'complete kit' with programmed ecu, etc., but, if he will sell you the TB units, injectors, and throttle position sensor, you can source the other required parts relatively cheaply (wreckingyard), a megasquirt ecu, and put together a good efi system.
The hardest part would be the wiring into your car....circuits, fusing, impact switch...
Off topic: I've often wondered about the performance differences between a plenum system vs 2 throttle bodies vs individual throttle bodies....

Re: Patton Machine EFI
I have an email into him asking if he will sell the two TBI for the 4 screw Z car (the same as our 2L carbs) then put that together with a 4 cylinder kit and provide that. Anxiously awaiting his reply, if any.

Daryl, I clicked on the link you provided at the bottom of your post and cannot access it. ?? Do you have a writeup or pics of your stroker with efi and D585 ignition? Would be cool to hear about it.

Re: Patton Machine EFI
I think the links are all broken....used to be pics in different threads....Probably about time I did an overall writeup on the stroker/efi.
I'm running a homebuilt plenum system. Worked well on the 1800cc engine, yet to see on new 2065cc engine.
I'm thouroughly convinced of the benefits of EFI/ignition with regards to cold starting, overall drivability, milage, and wider powerband. Not nescessarily peak horsepower though, but, you don't spend all your time with your foot to the floor, and it's the transition areas where the biggest benefits are imho.

Re: Patton Machine EFI
Well, I sent an email to Patton Machine asking if he'd sell me a 4 cylinder kit along with 2 ea 240z efi adapters for my U20 and never got a response so maybe he is done with Jap carbs. Sad......
