Hello All.
I have new coolant fittings (both T and straight) as well as plugs for the emissions delete on a U20 SU carb intake manifold. Can I get a confirmation n the thread type used on these and do I need to use a sealant on the threads or a teflon tape?
Thanks!

I think the threads are British Standard Pipe thread.
I used some teflon tape. I think they're taper thread so probably not absolutely necessary to use sealant but it sure makes it easier to remove if ever needed.

I'm pretty sure they're british threads too...
On a tapered thread, I know they're supposed to seal metal against metal, so I wasn't sure if the addition of the sealant or tape would actually not allow the taper to seal? Or maybe I'm overthinking.

Pipe threads are tapered. When you do plumbing work in your home, you use sealant on the threads.
Yes, you can probably get the metal to metal joint to seal but you're gonna have to get it very tight.

Okay thanks. If you have used the teflon tape and you haven't had any leak issue that's a good sign too. How long have you been running?
