TIG Brazing

Post by redroadster »

I guess Ive heard of it. I have the HF
$220 Tig ( have welded 4130 1/8")
But usually chose my MIG
this looks like it would be good for old steel. as it doesn't melt the steel. plus welding stainless to steel , iron
It gives the ability to braze/ weld thin to thick

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm thinking about adding a pass of it on top of my stainless gas tank welds just to ensure I have no pinhole leaks. Since you don't have to go nearly as hot for it, I think I could do the 2nd pass w/o any issue of warping. I'll definitely do some practice work first.

It would be a cool option on. S S tanks
Its DC current he is using.
No aluminum I guess. It keeps you from burning a hole in the steel
