heater core
Hi Just removed my heater core from my 67 1/2 1600. Can someone tell me what the electrical componet is in the heater box all so is there any way of testing it if not where can i pick one up.

That would be the blower fan speed control resistor component.
It gives you the various speed settings of the blower fan for the heater.
You can measure the resistance of the device with a DMM.
I actually used one from a modern car since my SP310 wasn't fitted with a heater originally.
The reason that they are placed inside the heater box is to reduce the likelihood of getting coated with fluff/dust and thus becoming a fire bomb.
Plus the air flow in the 'box helps to cool the wire wound resistor coils.
It gives you the various speed settings of the blower fan for the heater.

Drawing doesn't show the splice which is why I made mine. When I first pulled mine out I thought what is going on here?
