Brake line connection

Hopefully I have an easy question: Installing the hard lines on my daughters car, and having an issue where the main line that runs under the body connects to the hard line that goes over the rear axle. Both ends are bell ends. They thread into each other and look good, but bell on bell can't be right, right? That, and I tried it anyways and cannot get anything like a seal. Am I missing a compression adaptor or something? I looked on my sample car and don't see anything missing, but something is not right.
Any ideas?

There's a stupid (and there's no other word for it) ferrule that some genius decided was needed to seal the hard lines instead of just standard flared joints. Piece is unobtainium except from another car.

Brainbucket here (aka me) has misplaced both the original *AND* the one from my parts car.

Anybody have a pic of the piece? In theory, and if it has not been swept up, it exists somewhere in my shop. Maybe I have seen it and did not know it.

Copper nickel brake line is very easy to work with, making replacement of the whole line a fairly easy job. It even comes with new spring cover. This is also very good for your peace of mind.

I believe this is closer to what you are looking to find.

This is an AN-3 fitting, so I believe you need to change the angle where the flare seats. I have spun them in a drill press and used a file.

What you are looking for is a tiny barrel shaped brass Ferrule, apparently the original factory design was to have it instantly disappear the second it is disassembled. There is no replacement on earth available from any vendor. There is no part number there is no second source there is no substitute. Your only hope is to get one from another Roadster or Roadster owner or to replace the lines. Which is what many have done including myself. This ferrule is about a quarter inch long. It is designed to fall into any available crack never to be seen again. It is a very clever design, apparently to foil anybody that is not a Roadster brake ferrule expert. The only Roadster brake Ferrule experts in the world are all of the ones who have lost this Ferrule. The experts are never available when a non-expert attacks the brakes. We are all very good at warning you after the fact, and have posted about this many, many times. On the plus side A new expert is created quite often. As far as pictures, they are as elusive as a yeti. Very difficult to photograph something designed to disappear. Some engineer at Nissan is laughing his butt off to this day. Cruel SOB.

Those look pretty close, however, I am pretty sure the lines are 3/16", not 1/8.
