1 wire alternator install problem.

I think all I need is a wiring diagram for this specific model and don't seem to be finding one online. I orderd a new service manual that will arrive Tuesday and should show me were the three ignition switch wires should be going.. Thanks for the help.

Vrosi, Your wiring diagram is here on this site on tech wiki. go to electrical, then to custom electrical schematics, then pick 1966.

after investigating some of the old wiring and removing the ignition switch ,the tumbler just fell out of it and will try a 12 volt 3 position one off ebay. I now see front lights with the parking lights are on also prior to the tumbler falling out , but no starter. I bought a concise manual called the Datsun Roadster book Part VI reprint 1966-67 1600 sports Work Service Manual with clear wiring diagrams. from Amazon . I had seen some oem Ignition switches for $200 on the web somewhere but then they were gone..

Vrossi, for trouble shooting and working on your car you can wire temporary switches in. A simple on and off for ignition and a momentary contact for the starter. Then you can continue work while you search for the right switch. When I bought my '67 the ignition switch was a toggle switch hanging from under the dash.

u know my book has several different electrical diagrams and only one was mine but I had to find what matched with mine . a touch different from others .. but I have the book rt here on me so I'll shoot some pics of all the ones in here .
