Headlight Wiring Question

Charles Godwin just did the install of the Victoria British harness. I know that the big reason to do that is to take the load off of the fuse box. Is there a benefit to doing this on early cars?

You can put in the VB harness or you can get a couple sets of plugs, some wire, an inline fuse and go right around the fuse box problem of too much current in the 69-70.

Yes, it drops the current down to just passing through the relay and switch. The VB harness drops it down to almost nothing in the relay and switch. Both will get it out of the fuse box.

What happened to your wiring?

I am not entirely sure Curtis. As far as i know the car has been pulled apart and put back together by 2-3 different previous owners. The owner that i bought it from said the engine had a bent valve and he had started putting the wiring back together for the rear of the car (from his previous owner).
The wires in the front of the car look mostly factory although possibly have been added to or pulled apart. The car now runs and is tuned but after 5-10 minutes of running i noticed smoke coming from the fuze box area of the dash. since this discovery I've been working on getting the headlights to work.

since you've had some pos not completing it , CHECK YOUR FUSE PANEL . make sure it's in the correct order and inline the way they're supposed to be . I fixed many issues because my panel was all messed up . need the right wires lined up with what they're supposed to be with. it can get interesting when they're messed up . Haha that'll probably fix a few if not all . if u didn't burn it up that is . yeiks

Hello everyone I’m new to this so bear with me. I Purchased Victoria British headlight conversion wearing harness and installed it correctly on the car and I also installed brand new connectors that I obtain from vintage connectors. Everything is working correctly however my two fuses in my 1970 right hand side bottom two are still getting warm can anyone provide guidance on this

My Victoria British headlight harness kit arrived in the mail! i haven't taken much time to really look at it but i was hoping for some pointers..
Immediate question are.. Do i need to extend this kit to reach the factory headlight wires on my 69 roadster? Can anyone suggest a video or diagram that I can use to wiring these things in?

Will that Victoria British harness work on the 68 also?... I'll still have the problem of the taillights though, but it will be nice to have bright, functioning headlights

I'll try a 5 contact Bosch relay and i believe the 5th contact will be grounded like suggested above?

Does anyone know if the wiring relay set from Victoria British works with the 1970 Headlight wiring scheme?
