I took my 1970 1600 to my local carb guy in order to get them fine tune.
He recommended me to add mystery oil each time I fill up my gas tank in order to counter the "stickiness" residue of the ethanol base gasoline.
Before I follow is advice, I would love to hear the thoughts of people here.
Does it help? Is it recommended? Advantages or disadvantages?
Thank you in advance.

I would just try to get non-ethanol gas if possible. Pure-gas.org will let you know if there is something near you.

It won't hurt anything. I run it in my BMW from time to time.

I use MM oil every time I use ethanol gas. I try to run non-ethanol gas most
Of the time but that depends where I am. By home, it’s common because of the boats on the lakes...
It works - I haven’t had to tune the SUs in years where as before I would have to clean and tune every year
I also use it in the oil a few hundred miles before an oil change

Thanks guys! The closest non-ethanol gas station from me is 250 miles.
I will start using MM oil, just to be on the safe side.

I run ethanol free, but also use this if I can't. It was reccommend by the shop that worked on my vintage vespa and has been great.

Timely post... I'm getting the car prepared for her new engine and realized I didn't stabilize the fuel before I put her away last fall. I don't want to start her on crap gas, and while it smells fine I plan to drain some today and see what it's like, and perhaps run some of this along with new fuel.car_cursed wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2019 9:07 pm I run ethanol free, but also use this if I can't.
