Has anyone rebuilt their door hinges? My driver side door does not close well. Pretty sure it is sagging.
I will likely start with shimming/adjusting the hinges, but I'm worried that this may also require a hinge rebuild. I've seen the ebay posting for $95 a hinge (plus shipping), but there is no way I'm going to shell out $400+ to get the 4 door hinges rebuilt.
Anyone know the bearing / busing sizes or the hinge pin sizes?
Thanks,
~mike

Re: Rebuilding Door Hinges
Might be cheaper to get a used hinge of eBay or see if someone has an extra hinge they don't need that is still in good condition off 311s. I picked up a used set a while back and they were all solid. Took a few drops of WD40 on one of them, but they were all straight with no sagging. I think I paid around $40 for a set of four(4). Threw out the old ones as they were shot, so I can't help you myself. Good luck.

Re: Rebuilding Door Hinges
I rebuilt all of mine, it isn't hard to do.
I shopped around for some after market hinge pins that were similar in length and design but slightly larger in diameter.
Found some drill bits on ebay that would allow the new pins to pass through the hinges and accommodate the knurled section.
I counter bored the top of the hinge to reduce the effort of pressing the knurled section: I don't have a press I just hammered the pins home.
Job done

Re: Rebuilding Door Hinges
I virtually did the same as Nissanman, but I bored out the hinge to get rid of wear track and used stainless rod stock, did not worry about knurling the top of pin, drilled shallow 3/16 hole in top of pin, pressed in and popped top hole with punch, about ten yrs ago still great..just make sure interference fit doesn't bind in hinge..
