Reflectors on 1966 Roadster?

Post by Gornal »

Hi all,

I have a 1966 Roadster but it only has the two rear lights on either side. All photos I see on the Internet show the '66 with the reflectors above the lights. Can anyone tell me if the 1966 came out with the reflectors? I am almost finished rebuilding my '66 from scratch and want to make sure that it is as close to original.

thanks

Yes I should have the reflectors at the top of the rear "fins". Many PO's have removed them for some reason, mine included. I have the replacements, just have not got around to installing them yet. You should be able to see filler or a weld glob where the holes used to be inside the trunk.

Nissan still sells them. Around $28-30 each. I bought 3 last month since I had 3 for some reason. They tend to fade out over time in the sun.

"The times, they are a changin' "....just only 38 years ago, according to my records, I paid $3.71 each from a Datsun dealership in 1981.....

Well they did give me one for $25 since they forgot the 20% off on something else. And then I got some free hood bumpers since they weren't in the system.
